More Evidence Against Vitamin Use

Evidence from multiple studies is emerging that vitamin supplement use might be harming people more than helping. Oral Bacteria Might Signal Early Pancreatic Cancer

A new study suggests it might eventually be possible to screen for deadly diseases simply by analyzing a patient’s saliva. The presence or absence of certain oral bacteria can indicate a higher or lower risk. Pancreatic Cancer is the first disease this study has successfully found a bacteria-disease correlation in.

White Fruits, Veggies Take a Bite Out of Stroke Risk

A new Dutch study suggests a link between certain colors of fruits and vegetables and a reduced stroke risk. Fruits and veggies that are white in color, such as apples, bananas, cucumbers and cauliflower are high in a certain antioxidant flavonoid called quercetin. Green, orange and purple fruits and veggies didn’t effect participants’ stroke risk. Find out more.

Poor Will Suffer if Fluoride is Taken from Water

The rate of tooth decay in the US has fallen dramatically, between 18 and 40 percent, since the 40′s when fluoride was added to the drinking water. Event on Capitol Hill Addresses Oral Health Disparities

A new report from Oral Health America found that 17 percent of parents have claimed that their children have missed at least one day of school due to dental pain. Oral health disparities among US citizens was the reason for a very important gathering on Cpaitol Hill on September 21st. Almost 100 oral health supporters showed up to discuss possible solutions for aiding the less fortunate in recieving dental care. Find out more.
